A practical answer

How do you connect a website to a CRM?

A website-to-CRM integration sends form data into the right CRM record under agreed rules. The job is not just to “send the form”: the team must know the record was created, was not lost, and has an owner.

Lumen websites with working enquiries

Decide what data to send

Agree on the fields a manager needs: contact details, the request, its source, and a preferred reply channel. Extra required fields can stop someone from submitting. Define where the enquiry lands in the CRM and how repeat enquiries from one person are handled.

Test the outcome, not the button

Test a valid enquiry, missing data, a duplicate, a temporary CRM failure, and a retry. The website should not say “sent” if the CRM rejected the record. The team needs to see failures so it can contact the person manually.

Consider access and consent

Send only the data needed to handle the enquiry. Keep CRM credentials on the server, not in browser code. The form and privacy notice should explain what happens to contact details; the exact requirements depend on your jurisdiction.
